Macbook Pro TranceHave you ever been hypnotized by the slick and sleek lines of your MacBook Pro then suddenly wake up from your Mac Trance, only to realize you forgot to do something like throw your clothes in the dryer OR you forget to eat OR even worse...you forget to throw the lasagna in the oven and it's still frozen when your starving girlfriend comes home after a long day??

Well don't worry...

I've got a great tip to make sure this never happens to you.

Use Quicksilver to remind yourself and never have your Sweetie mad at you again.  If you don't know what Quicksilver is: it's a COOL & POWERFUL app that gives you access to every program, file and/or application on your Mac in just a few keystrokes.  Now, don't get discouraged when you first install it because it can seem overwhelming.  Even I was puzzled as to why people were so nutz about it.  But once you harness the strength and the power of it, it will be hard to imagine life without it - I PROMISE!

So back to my tip.

To schedule yourself a reminder to be sure your lasagna isn't frozen when your Sweetie comes home.  This is what you need to do...

  1. Install Quicksilver (You can get a free copy  HERE)
  2. Hit CNTRL + SPACEBAR to quickly open Quicksilver
  3. Hit the PERIOD key ( . ) - This brings up the Text Window
  4. Type your reminder message in the Text Window - i.e. "Do you want to eat frozen lasagna tonight or??!"
  5. Hit TAB to move to the Options Window
  6. Hit CNTRL + ENTER to reveal the "Secret" Run Options
  7. Use your UP & DOWN ARROWS to scroll through the options.
  8. Choose "Run after delay..." or "Run at time..." and then hit ENTER
  9. Then type in a time command (it'll pretty much read whatever format you type):
For example:  30min or 1.5hour or 6pm or 6:30pm or whatever time you want your message to pop up on your slick Mac screen and...you're Sweetie will never be mad at ya again!
